One of our absolute favorite events of every year is PCBC (Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference). You’ll be hard pressed to find a more progressive group of sharp minds in home building in a single place. This year’s event in San Francisco will feature a half-day Marketing Boot Camp on Wednesday, June 22nd from 1:30pm – 4pm presented by Do You Convert!

You’ll learn the secrets to better ROI and prospect conversion in today’s high stakes world of marketing new homes! Kevin Oakley, Mike Lyon, Paul Cardis, special opening guest Jeff Shore, and Zillow’s Director of Consumer Insights will share what works, what doesn’t, and how to take action tomorrow that will increase your results. This high energy boot camp will give you both a strong foundational understanding as well as deep tactical strategies that you can implement immediately:

1. Foundational Excellence
Dive right into how to cut through the clutter to determine what truly matters, and how to build and execute a strategy around it. You will uncover how to maximize your time, budget, and use NEW tactics to get results like never before once you understand how consumer expectations and technology keep changing the rules of the game.

2. Why Your Online Experience Has To Change
100% of your prospects are influenced by the internet. Learn how to create online content that compels them to want to buy from you. Kevin and Paul will show you how marketing must support the sales process – even beyond closing – using time-tested methods and the latest innovations in technology (drones, 360 cameras, VR, self-guided tours, and more).

3. Presale Like a Boss
So you have a growing list of VIP registrants waiting for a new community to open, now what? Mike will show you methods that help you stay connected with prospects (even when you don’t have much to say). You’ll also learn how those same methods can make your long term follow up as easy as Shake ‘n Bake.

Kevin Oakley, Marketing Strategy & Execution Expert, Do You Convert
Kevin Oakley has over a decade of experience running marketing and sales operations for home builders of all shapes, sizes, and areas of expertise. Kevin has worked for two different multi-billion dollar revenue builders (NVR & Maronda Homes) as well as for a private family owned builder (Heartland Homes).

During his two years with NVR, a top 5 home builder, Kevin had full operational responsibility for land, construction, and sales for two home building divisions in the Pittsburgh MSA. While at Heartland Homes, Kevin’s management helped to grow sales by 15-20% each year during the downturn from 2008 – 2012 while simultaneously shrinking the marketing budget each year.

Kevin’s extensive background and time spent in the trenches allows him to uniquely connect with the challenges you face in today’s market. From launching new communities, increasing online lead volume or conversion, improving your customer’s experience, lowering marketing costs, web design, and so much more – he has a strategy for success. Kevin speaks regularly at the International Builder’s Show and Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference as well as select local home building associations and home building companies looking to gain an edge over the competition.

Kevin is the author of Presale Without Fail: The Secret to Launching New Communities and Phases with Maximum Results. A revised and expanded 2.0 version is now available in the books section of the website.

Paul Cardis, CEO, AVID
Paul has built Avid Ratings and Avid Ratings Canada that all share the same mission, to improve the quality of housing throughout North America. Founded in 1992, Avid Ratings is built on the belief that “avid leaders create avid employees, who create avid customers,” Paul says. “What differentiates leading organizations from those who merely follow, is a passion for excellence that makes success contagious… that’s what Avid is all about.”

Since its inception, Avid has helped thousands of companies improve their products, maximize operations, and improve the customers’ experience, resulting in greater loyalty, increased referral sales, customer cooperation, employee engagement, and establish leading brands. In fact, one of the keys to success in any industry is the ability to generate customer loyalty. Paul says, in our key market of home building, “research has shown that referral prospects who visit a sales center are twice as likely as marketed prospects to purchase from that builder. With those kinds of numbers, your company needs to go beyond merely satisfying customers, or risk going under.” Today, Avid is the undisputed leader in the industry with over 2750 homebuilding clients throughout North America.

Paul’s work has been highlighted in a variety of places, including Time, MSN, Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, Yahoo, and numerous local TV news stories, newspaper articles, and industry newsletters. Currently, he writes and produces in-depth video for his online publication, along with writing a quarterly column in the nationally read Builder magazine, and for Canadian consumer publication, BC Homes Magazine. He is also a regular speaker at the major residential construction industry events, including the International Builders’ Show, Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC), South East Building Conference (SEBC), and many other U.S. and Canadian events.
