Stop Apologizing

Aug 27, 2013 | By Mike Lyon

Look through your inbox. How many messages start out like this “I apologize for the delay” or “Sorry it took me so long”.

Now – go check your sent folder. How many emails have you composed lately using that same intro?

You (we) need to stop apologizing. Because using that phrase is really code for “you’re not important” or “I’ll get back to you on my terms”.

If you are in the business of sales, you need to get used to a fast response. Even if it is to say“I got your email and I’ll respond by _______”

Let’s all make a commitment to banish that phrase from our emails. Sound good?
